Political boneheads surface everyday out of the ranks of lawmakers, the makers of bad laws because they have no integrity to make balanced and fair laws. Especially so in the Bible Belt the so called christians just like their blood thirsty counterparts in the religious crusades, they spill venom and garbage. Where the true Christian strives to be like Christ, as true footstep followers in the Way, these false christians have no mercy, they have no understanding, they just keep acting like the servants of the one who rebelled against the true God Jehovah. A legislator in Alabama has filed a bill that would require the state surgically to castrate convicted child molesters before releasing them from prison. The bill, sponsored by Democratic Representative Steve Hurst of Mumford, also says the offender must pay the cost of the surgery. "We need a stronger deterrent than what we have now," Hurst told the Tuscaloosa News. "I'd like for Alabama to take the lead and say that enough is enough."

It is a sad day when America is not only willing to blatantly violate the constitution but willing to mutilate

the bodies of those who are violate its laws. This is a huge step backwards for America and what we stand

for. The term sex offender has lost all its meaning. In the beginning it was just dangerous offenders who

posed a threat to the public. Over the years of sloppy illegal laws it has grown to include so many it was

not designed for. The fact is the majority of the people who are forced to register were not supposed to be

there. Law enforcement, DOJ, and many others involved say this has gotten out of control. We are

Americans and that means we fight for what is right. We stand up to those who violate our rights as this

violation is also an assault on our country. It's time we stand for the truth. It's time we demand these laws

comply with our constitution and the building blocks of our nation. This type of law is inhuman and should

never have made it this far. Anyone who supports this should look into history to find the outcome. Every

group who has been considered inferior and walked upon as not worthy has stood up and fought for their

rights and freedoms. The cost of such prejudice is great. In a time when we ask for change I ask you to ask

for the truth and help bring our America back to its glory

Legislators constantly demonstrate how foolish they are, and how down right stupid they are. No wonder

people have such low opinions of legislators. The garbage that comes out of their mouths just astounds me.

What is more sickening is this crap comes out of the mouths of the so called peoples party, the Democratic

party.

let come out. The one thing that might be good about this jerk of a legislator is that with such statements we

know he comes from a stinking garbage can, and that politically he should be voted out of office the next go

Obama wants to start a new day of transparency and honesty. This guy is not of that new day. If he and

the other vigilante minded gutter heads would even do the research, and yes also listen to what the facts and

truths are, he might become a better legislator, but I would not bet my last penny on it.

What is wrong with this idea? Everything!  Does this guy just think that the public is dumb? The facts of

sexual assault have more to do with power and control and making a person child or adult feel bad. If you

do as he is sugesting you will find that those sex offenders that are the ones that will re-offend will use

some other insterment to insert into the victim. And comeone look to the research and he would find that

not all sex offenders are child molesters, not all sex offenders are going to re-offend. The US Dept. OF

Justice studies put sex offenders at one of the lowest recidivism rates amoung all criminals, 3.5% are

reconvicted of a new sex crime within 3 years of release from prison. They also report that 95% of sex

crimes are commited by a person with NO prior arrest record. 90% of sexual assaults are commited by a

person well known and trusted by the victim with over 50% of them being a family member. But what this

office holder is realy doing is trying to get more votes at election time. He is of the thinking that we the

public just want him to be hard on crime, but the truth is we the public want him to be smart on crime! And

to be smart on crime he has to do a little reading first of all the studies done on sex offenses and sex

offenders. But that is more than we should ask of him. Or is it?

This is outrageous! When are our elected officials going to wake up?! Prison, registry, and castration are

NOT the answers. They need to do their homework and read the research that has been done. The states

and the federal government have no clue! We need to start immediate therapy and only imprison those who

are not able to be rehabilitated. Many of the sex offenders were just having sex as teens and many have been

convicted with no evidence to back up the accusations. Did you know that there is a guy in our prison

system that is serving 20 years for putting A&D ointment on his daughter when she had a rash? Did you

know that in the same dorm is a guy who actually did molest his teenage daughter serving the same time and

has never had any counseling sessions to help rehabilitate him? Did you know that a very high percentage

of sex offenders once caught will never reoffend? That percentage goes up when they go through therapy.

The laws are causing more harm than good. I'm a victim of child molestation and find these laws

outrageous!!!! They are hurting the victims and the family members of the sex offenders more than the

offenders themselves. Can we all say, UNCONSTITUTIONAL?! Georgia even keeps sex offenders from

singing in church. Again, can you say UNCONSTITUTIONAL? Of all places I would want a sex offender

to be is in church. That is going to be the only way these people find God and find a way toward not

reoffending. We all sin and all have made bad decisions. Leave the former sex offenders alone! They have

served their time and deserve a 2nd chance!!!!

Apparently, Alabama has plenty of political corruption going on.
This idiot legislator assumes all sex offenders are molesters and that most re-offend - WRONG!
In fact, many on registries are non-violent offenders and fewer than 10% re-offend according to the

Department Of Justice and major university studies.

Not to mention there are young children on these registries. I guess he sees nothing wrong with castrating

eight-year-old boys too. Plain sick!

In Vietnam we called them Gooks. The blacks in this country, The N word. That is the psychology of this

Mark Foley is a prime example, calling all sex offenders animals who do not deserve rights. Can't find him

on a registry. In fact I have a looong list of politicians who were convicted of sex offenses and can't find any

of them on the registry.

It's about time that we as a society start acting like human beings. Especially the so-called Christians who

vote for this type of legislation. It is tougher in the BIBLE belts than any where.

The politicians have obviously forgotten the fact these are humans and not cattle. I noticed at the beginning

of the article they mentioned "molesters" to be castrated. Further down in the bill it stated "offenders" to be

castrated. It's the usual case of lumping all into one category. What would stop them from lining up all sex

offenders? Not that they have the right to do this to any human being, but we all know what a great job

they have done with the sex offender registry. Think what they could do with this kind of power in their

hands.

It is beyond me that the politicians will stoop this low to get ahead. It makes me angry, but at the same

time ashamed, at what our society has become.

What country do we live in again? Is this legislator serious? Yes, there are some mentally ill people who

benefit from being removed from society. But, many are young people who may have had a youthful

indiscretion should not have their whole lives ruined and be subjected to cruel and unusual punishment.

Come on. Most sex offences occur without there having been any "sex". And, there does not have to be any

proof, or any investigation. Only an accusation.

As long as people continue to equate "sex offender" in the same breath as "child molester" you will not

understand why those who oppose these laws, as they have unintended consequences.

Thousands of children will be destoyed by these laws.

The legislators try (and have been somewhat successful) at promoting fear among the public just to earn

votes for an election.

The public better take notice, our constitutional rights are being taken away, little by little.
Whats next? Drunk drivers, to have their eyes removed?

Well another bad idea. this is not going to do any more then to make someone feel like they finally harmed

the offender enough. Well my guess that it still won't be enough. Next they will cut off their big toes like

they did to the slaves so they couldn't run. This way they can't run fast enough to catch someone to rape

think about what we are really doing here. Castration doesn't stop someone from committing a sex crime.

people we are paying and get them off their butts to do there jobs instead of beating a very expensive dead

I have a unique idea. Why not look at the research before passing sex offender laws? DUH!

There is a mountain of research out there but law makers ignore all of it.
